Why you are reccing this: I found this to be a beautifully nuanced portrait of a young man growing up between worlds in many ways (magical/Muggle, black/white, gay/straight). The triumph of it is that it manages not to reduce Dean to a poster boy for the various minority populations he happens to represent by dint of his birth, but to make him a thinking, feeling human being who could really be anyone.
