September Diversity Pimping Post

With both Halloween and the Winter holidays coming up fast, there's a huge range of fests and events going on this month. Here's a selection of opportunities to include characters of color:

- Check out the weekly prompts every Tuesday at hp_het_taboo to get inspired for any het pairings involving taboos such as incest, age gaps, kinks, or infidelity. Mrs Zabini/Draco, Roxanne/Louis, or Angelina/Fred/George would all fit.

- Weekly slash prompts are also available every Saturday at hogwarts365 and het/gen prompts are posted every Monday at hp_hetgen.

- Sign-ups are open for the het porn exchange at smutty_claus until 7 September 2014, or until all slots are filled, so get in there quick! Blaise/Hermione, Roxanne/Scorpius, or Snape/Sinistra are all viable pairings.

- Claiming is open at interhouse_fest until 8 September 2014. Daphne and Cho playing a drinking game, Blaise/Dean/Luna under the influence of pheromones, or Percy and Padma arguing opposing sides before the Wizengamot... and there are many more!

- Claiming is open for the HP Humor Fest at hp_laughs until 10 September 2014. There are still a few prompts left, or use your own!

- Claiming is open for the Sapphic Love Fest at hpsapphicappeal until 15 September 2014. Most of the prompts are for 'any' characters and pairings, so think of Angelina, Cho, Padma, Parvati, Aurora, Roxanne, and Mrs Zabini!

- Claiming is open for the Halloween Fest at hp_creatures until 20 September 2014, with many prompts still to choose from, including ones for Kingsley, Cho, Parvati, and Blaise.

- hp_creatures has their September prompts up: Potions accident, Claws, and Red. Maybe Neville turns Dean into a frog during Potions, or Blaise is a red-eyed vampire.

- Claiming is open at the HP Cross Gen Fest at hp_crossgenfest until 5 October 2014. Draco as Kingsley's assistant, any Next-Gen girl (for example, Roxanne) in detention with Professor Pansy Parkinson, and Hermione and Kingsley working together at the Ministry are just three of the options available.

- hp_darkarts has issued a Potions challenge for any dark fanwork involving potions. What sinister things did Slughorn teach Blaise? What did Cho brew up to get Harry to kiss her (or to get back at him for dumping her)? And how did Mrs Zabini get rid of her first six husbands? Fanworks are due October 19, 2014.

- Claiming is open for the HP Sexstars Fest at hp_sexstars until 24 October 2014. There are a bunch of 'any character' prompts as well as prompts for Kingsley and Blaise.

- Sign-ups are open for the holiday-themed mini_fest, with submissions due on 18 November 2014. Prompts include a romantic Christmas Eve for Blaise/Ginny, any femmeslash pairing - maybe Angelina/Katie? - using candy or chocolate during foreplay, and Kingsley cheering Hermione up on Christmas Eve.

Thanks for everyone's input on the poll for Diversity Awareness Month. It looks like recs are still something that people are interested in, along with a comment fest.

So we will collect recs* throughout September for any fanworks featuring a character of color in the HP fandom. Fics of any length, art, podfic, meta, icons, etc. are all fair game. The only things that are off-limits are fanworks that were recced last year.

Additionally, we will run a comment fest from 1-31 October with open prompting and filling.
