Flew the femmeslash broom @ crack_broom for April and made a point of concentrating on fanworks that featured characters of color. Here they are:

Title: This Absolutely Brilliant Thing

Reccer's Notes: A remix of woldy's Three Reasons, or Maybe Excuses (a rec within a rec, certainly!). Written from Lavender's POV, it's a well done characterization of both girls with a realistic depiction of a teenager dealing with issues of race and sexual identity.

Summary: Lavender and Parvati knew what would happen to them if they were caught outside after curfew; still, they couldn't seem to help themselves. Two best friends try to find some peace in the midst of a frightening war zone. Takes place during the events of Deathly Hallows.

Reccer's Notes: Written as a missing canon scene, this is a wonderfully angsty look at how the students at Hogwarts, specifically Lavender and Parvati, might have tried to manage their way through a devastating war.

Reccer's Notes: This is a fun read, if only for a perfectly IC Lavender, especially since canon doesn't shed her, or Cho for that matter, in the best light.
