Interhouse Fest Diversity Fics

This year's [livejournal.com profile] interhouse_fest was all about mixing it up, and they certainly did it, bringing Cho, Parvati, Padma, Blaise, and Dean into the mix.

Title: Lost in Translation
Author: [info]fiery_flamingo
Characters: Percy Weasley/Cho Chang
Prompt number: #157
Word Count: ~1000
Rating: PG
Warnings: None.
Summary: Percy needs help that only Cho can give, in more ways than one.
Disclaimer: It’s JKR’s and Warner Bros. sandbox. I’m just building sandcastles.
Author’s Notes: Thanks to my awesome beta, L, for her speedy and concise work and [info]nessismore for the prompt!

Title: A War of Words (1/2)
Author: [info]gin_again
Characters: Neville/Hannah, Parvati/Pansy, Ernie/Padma, Seamus/Michael, one-sided Lavender/Michael
Prompt number: #9
Word Count: 12,171
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: language, implied M/M and F/F relationships
Summary: The members of Dumbledore’s Army spent two weeks hiding in the Room of Requirement before Harry arrived. These are their stories, as told by their own notes and letters.
Disclaimer: The world belongs to Rowling; I just play in it.
Author’s Notes: The idea for this story came from the brilliant novel Feeling Sorry for Celia by Jaclyn Moriarty, and my over-zealous muse originally envisioned grand plans to turn all the notes and letters into images. But then I realized the story was over 12,000 words and my brain exploded. But I want to hugely thank M, who provided me with swift and excellent beta work when plans changed; all remaining errors are my own. And all the respect, admiration and love in the world to [info]fiery_flamingo and [info]leigh_adams, who were patient beyond words with me despite the mad extensions and plan changes. Best. Mods. Ever.

Title: Flights of Fancy
Author: [info]namelessamelie
Pairing: Draco/Cho
Prompt number: 164
Word Count: 5,514
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: N/A
Summary: Sometimes you get tired of being with heroes.
Disclaimer: Unfortunately, there was absolutely no profit made from the writing of this story. Everything in the Potter-verse is J.K. Rowling’s and not mine.
Author’s Notes: Thank you to [info]agirlnamedtruth for the opportunity to write such a rare (but intriguing!) pair—and also for the great prompt, which I used as my summary. Thank you also to my beta and, last but not least, to the wonderful mods, who have done an amazing job with this fest!

Title: How the Quibbler (Finally) Turned a Profit
Author: [info]slumber
Characters: shades of Blaise/Luna, Neville/Hannah
Prompt number: 121
Word Count: 2,600
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: Wherein Blaise purchases the Quibbler and implements changes that Luna doesn't like, and Neville just wants to ask Hannah out.
Disclaimer: Characters belong to JKR. Not even the plot is mine! Thanks for the great prompt, [info]pagan_toon76!
Author’s Notes: Thanks to C for the beta! Hope you enjoy reading. :)

Title: Light in the Walls
Author/Artist: [info]themaohour
Characters: Neville/Blaise; hints of Neville/Ginny; Pansy, Theo
Prompt number: 82
Word Count: 2500
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Bellatrix Lestrange.
Summary: The quietest of sufferings leave the deepest scars.
Disclaimer: Harry Potter and all henceforth mentioned franchises belong to their respective owners.
Author’s Notes: Super stellar to see a prompt regarding asexuality. I hope that component is apparent in this story, although...it's a drabble set, so who knows. I'd definitely like to revisit the theme at a later date. Thanks to the people who made this not a pile of suck (looking at you, CPK) and also to the mods of this fest, who are the most understanding people in the history of understanding people, possibly second to Annie Sullivan (but that's still up in the air).

Title: Our Love in Boxes
Author: [info]withdrawnred
Characters: Seamus Finnigan/Padma Patil (with guest stars Dean Thomas, Parvati Patil, and Lavender Brown)
Prompt number: #93
Word Count: 1,293
Rating: PG
Warnings: Angsty
Summary: His first instinct is to bolt—again. But Dean’s gossip is still ringing in his ear, and if Seamus knows one thing about Padma Patil (besides the fact that she hates being vulnerable, but that just can’t be helped), it’s her fear of abandonment, especially at the hands of her sister.
Disclaimer: Not mine, any of it.
