It's February, the month of lovers... or not!lovers. Whether you're into hearts and roses, death and destruction, or just plain magic, there's no lack of opportunities to involve some of our favorite characters in the action.

- Claiming for HP Rare Fest at hprarefest begins on 5 February 2014. There are lots of pairings with characters of color available, including Dean/Draco, Padma/Daphne, and Blaise/Hannah. As well as plenty of 'any character' prompts.

- Prompting for the HP Mental Health Fest at hp_mhealthfest ends on 5 February 2014. There are a couple of prompts featuring characters of color already, but there's always room for more. Claiming begins on 10 February 2014.

- Sign-ups end for the HP Beholder Fest at hp_beholder on 6 February 2014. The only character of color on the 'Qualifying characters' list is Aurora Sinistra - I guess the rest are too pretty - but you can pair 'Qualifying' characters with anyone. For example, Kingsley/Minerva, Mrs Zabini/Madam Rosmerta, or Blaise/Goyle.

- Nominations for the multifandom Rare Women exchange at rarewomen end on 8 February 2014, and sign-ups begin on 16 February 2014. Parvati is the only character of color in the HP fandom who's been nominated so far, but Aurora and Mrs Zabini would also qualify. If you're interested in writing - or receiving - fics with these characters, hurry on over and nominate them.

- Prompting continues for the HP Horror fest at hp_darkarts until 8 February 2014, with claiming beginning on 10 February 2014.

- Prompting and claiming (with overflow claiming here) are open for the Valentine's Fest at do_me_veela until 13 February 2014.

- For the Love of HP Ships Mini-Fest, a prompting meme, is running at fortheloveofhp until 15 February 2014. So far there are no prompts for characters of color... An opportunity?

- Behind the Door: A Celebration of Scenes, a self-posting challenge, is running at hpsolemnlysworn until 28 February 2014. The Mix'N'Match table includes Angelina, Kingsley, and Blaise... what in the world have they been getting up to with hot sauce in the Shrieking Shack?
